We are proud supported of the Phoenix Zoo. As such we go and visit the animals several times a year. Sydney still likes to pet the goats.

Following our goal to visit each island in Hawaii once without island hopping, we vacationed in 2008 on the big island. This is so far the island I like least (compared to Maui and Oahu.) Still the vacations were nice and we got to see a lot of nice beaches, sea life and had simply a good time as a family.
Accommodation was probably the non plus ultra. Christy, as always did a great job in scouting out a good deal for a great place.

Thomas has been working on a project in New York for almost all of 2008. So why not visiting him during Summer break? Tyler was during this time in LA. So Sydney and Christy made the long trip to the city at the Hudson and stayed in Thomas' apartment. They quickly learned how small studios in New York were. Still, we had a good time.
One night we visited Bubba Gump. They have the most delicious deserts (and very reasonably priced!)

The fourth of July we spent in Fresno. The family took a short trip to drive up there and visit grandpa. As always we were welcome in the Casa David which was perfect for all of us. Little Sydney spent hours pushing balls along the corridor and warmed up to Grandpa McMurry.
At the same time we had a good base to visit family and friends (Delila: thanks for a nice afternoon at your place.) Soon after our visit Leif headed out to Australia where is seeking training as a teacher.

We are super proud of Tyler who got an award in his school. The principal sent an invitation for award night which Christy, Sydney and Tyler followed. It got a little late for Sydney, but she just loves her Ya-ya.
It is during these moments when you realize that your little son is not that little anymore.
Great job well done Tyler and thanks for your continued support Mom!
