Some days in Fresno (CA). We enjoyed a nice stay in the Casa di McMurry. From there we got to visit family and spend quality time with everybody.

Highlight of the year was a visit to Switzerland. Sydney was just a few months old and made the long trip with many delays very well. She slept for large parts on the plane. Once more, the family could fly business class thanks to frequent flyer miles.
In Switzerland we rented a car and stayed and Grandma Renate's house. During the short time in the country we visited a whole lot of people. Almost daily we traveled somewhere to see family and friends. (Apologies to the many people we could not visit!)
Of course we also had to go to some tourist places, most notably Lucerne.
The trip back to the US was one Odyssey. We arrived left late, arrived late in NY (JFK) and missed our connection. As a result the baby broke down and vomited all over the place. (Every time I pass through the terminal in JFK I have to think about this...) We arrived at 2am in Phoenix. Once at home the family was greeted by a water leak that caused one of the ceilings to cave in. Bad luck was only topped by missing items from the luggage. Too bad an ending for a great trip.

Christmas again! This time the family met up in Portland (Oregon.) A different Christmas/New Year but very nice. Melissa offered her Beach house as a base camp. (thank you Paul and Melissa.)
