Every year again. It was time for the annual Cardboard Regatta organized by a local charity club. The kids built another boat under expert supervision. There is only one rule: you can only use cardboard, glue and paint. This year again, the scout troop got first place after winning all its heats.
Tempe lake is the perfect venue for these races. It is easy to access, warm enough and lots of fun. The regatta offers three categories, the regular boats, creative inventions and last minute boats. The last minute boats are not a lot more than card board boxes wrapped in plastic. The latter is allowed since there is no glue, paint nor are there multiple layers possible to water proof the boat. They need to be built on the spot right before the race.
Again it was fund, but turned out to be the last of these events Tyler would participate.
