Sunday afternoon; Christy needed to write her paper for school. So I decided to take Sydney to the park so that she could use some of her energy.

All was fine and we had a good time until after about an hour we played catch. She ran and fell. As she softened her fall with the elbow she immediately cried from pain.

Hours later, after a seemingly endless time in the emergency room we got the diagnosis. A clear fracture of her humerus.

Note: The markings in the xray show the fracture and the resulting shift of the bone to the back.

Another 30 minutes later with the help of laugh gas and a pediatric doctor her arm was put in a half cast and another x-ray was taken.

Note: this picture clearly shows the half cast as well as the reset bone structure which is now a lot more brought forward and aligned with the humerus bone.

We returned home at about 23:00. A long day, Christy's paper was not written and Sydney's plans for the week had massively changed.

The only good news, her fracture seems to be healing quite well and quickly.
