2015

Once more we managed to escape the start of the winter in Melbourne and travelled to Oahu. Thomas had a training right before the vacation and headed to the US first. He welcome Christy and Sydney in Oahu where they arrived in time for a great family vacation.

This year we could not get our preferred rental at the North Shore for the full period of time. For this reason we spent a few days at the North Shore followed by four nights in Waikiki. The great parts about Waikiki were the ability to eat out in the restaurants we used to frequent when we still lived in the US. The other even better fact was, that Emma, Sydney's best friend from school, visited at the same time as we were there. This allowed us to share some time with them. Much to Sydney's excitement they both got to have a sleep over the respective other's place. (In our case, we took Emma to the North Shore, from where her family picked her up and got to see some of our famous places.)

This time we did not get to scuba as our favorite dive guide was not around. We also realized that we had seen most of the dive places already and that we were really not keen on another deep dive. (The price / value relationship for these is just not great. There are usually too many people in the group and by the time all are at the bottom, it is already time again to get up.)

No worry, we still got to snorkel a lot as can be seen by the movie and pictures. This time we also short a movie of our beloved friends the Turtles (Honu).
