Once more we spent Christmas in the Queensland area with Christy's family. This year her brother Nathan with family have made the long trip to Australia to join into the celebrations.

The key events were:

  1. Christy's birthday, which we celebrated in the Sitar one of Christy's favorite restaurants.
  2. Christmas celebrated at Summer's house. This year the number of gifts took on epic proportions
  3. Relaxation: this year we took to several places including a few days in a resort in Surfer's Paradise. The resort was ok; we definitely had a good time there though. Leif came up for a visit and enjoyed the warm Queensland weather. In addition we went to many other places such as Noosa Heads, Mooloolaba, Currumbin, Woorim, Southbank, Redcliff Settler's Park. We also got to enjoy fresh Seafood from Morgans (in Scarborough) a tradition we have upheld ever since Thomas' first visit to Queensland in 2003.
  4. New Years Eve which we spent at Southbank. The firework seemed shorted but was very beautiful.

Below a selection of pictures from all of these events and activities.

Sydney was super excited not only to be with her cousins but also to make strides in swimming. She braved waves that were at least as tall as she is while not being able to safely swim over longer distances. Still, if there was one kid who did not want to come out of the water, it was her. Once out she was immediately hungry and tired; ate and slept well to ready herself for the next day swim adventure.
