After a fantastic New Year's Eve we had a day in Brisbane. What better than going with grandma to the zoo.
Christy identified a zoo that is reasonably close to Brisbane, so that we did not have to drive long. Sydney was in seventh heaven when she sould feed the kangaroos. We ended the visit with feeding the Lorikeets. This activity alone made it worthwhile visiting the zoo. We realized that we did not have to travel all the way to the Currumbin Bird Sanctuary in order to meet with the Lorikeets.
On the way back we drove through Kangaroo Point in Brisbane, had a sandwich and visited the temple. As always it was nicely located, kept and eradiated a feeling of tranquility. Good we made it there.
Well, this was the first 01/01/11, but not until arriving back at Summy's house where we had dinner.
The next day saw us bright and early on the plane to get back to Melbourne.
